Happy Pollinator Week!
This week from June 20-26 there are many opportunities for showing a little extra love for the pollinators that help us keep our gardens blooming, our food systems running, and maintain the healthy ecosystems all around us. Pollinator week was begun by Pollinator Partnership with the goal of spreading awareness and supporting pollinator health, and since then it has become an annual international event. In B.C. we have over 450 native pollinator species to show our support for and this week there are many local events where you can learn what they are, how to identify them, and how to care for them.
In Victoria there are speaker series, garden tours, field trips with Meadow Makers, and much more! Check out the Pollinator Partnership website and other links included below for information, upcoming events, and how you can get involved this pollinator week.
